Various positions, same high standards
We often imagine fieldwork as an activity centered around harvests, but the reality is more diverse. Seasonal contracts generally last more than six months, and we recruit staff for jobs in the fields, in greenhouses, and on packaging lines. Their common denominator: precision. Our jobs require meticulousness and good physical stamina. No technical skills are required to start: everything is learned on the job. The essential thing is to have a taste for hard work and a commitment to quality.
A multicultural SME
To keep the business running, the vast majority of our seasonal workers come from the European Union. This is a well-known problem in the agricultural sector: faced with a shortage of labor for these physical jobs, we seek out motivated individuals wherever they may be, while giving preference to local candidates and collaborating with regional employment offices (ORP).
The goal of the HR team and managers is to integrate all these profiles into a single team. French lessons are also offered to facilitate communication.
Close-knit teams and a family atmosphere
Some people have been loyal to the company for over 35 years, and many seasonal workers are rehired every year. This stability is the result of concrete efforts: affordable housing for seasonal workers, conditions (salaries, holidays) that exceed the standard agricultural contract, as well as opportunities for training and career advancement.
Working at Stoll Frères also means free vegetables twice a week, discounts on leisure activities, and two highly anticipated annual parties, one in summer and one in winter, where all the staff get together to have a good time. The summer edition is especially family-friendly: check it out! video of the last party to soak up the wonderful atmosphere that reigns there.
HR professionals on the ground
We have recently structured and strengthened our Human Resources (HR) department, which now consists of a director and two managers. Their priorities include recruitment, clarifying processes, and enhancing the attractiveness of our job opportunities.
Breaking away from the traditional framework, the team has adopted its own unique way of working: they relocate their office one day a week to one of the greenhouses and organize a monthly "breakfast/exchange," a friendly and informative gathering. These are simple ways to break down barriers and answer everyone's questions in their everyday environment.
