About
Our company
Vegetable growers and entrepreneurs, since 1982
The Stoll family company in Yverdon-les-Bains (VD) is active in vegetable production and the marketing of fruit and vegetables for supermarkets, wholesalers and the early produce trade.
It is made up of five entities:
- Stoll Production SA which produces vegetables on the Orbe plain
- Stoll Frères SA responsible for the logistics and marketing of fruit and vegetables, whether produced in-house or sourced from partners
- Stoll Immobilier SA for building asset management
- MalmEnergie Naturelle SA for geothermal energy and renewable energy supply projects
- Unifrais SA which brings together producers to market fruit and vegetables, and whose administrative activities we manage

Our story
An entrepreneur at heart, even though he was still a teenager, Roland Stoll sells melons in his village.
Creation of the market gardening business: the two brothers Roland and Willy buy a farm. Roland, 17, is still in his second year as an apprentice.
Increased production: this was our bold move to target mass distribution. In 1985, we began working with a Swiss giant.
We begin our travels across Europe to discover the most advanced techniques and make contacts.
A first in Switzerland: we are investing in an automatic tomato sorting machine. Machines for carrots and onions will follow.
Convinced by integrated pest management despite its cost, we buy bumblebees. Our investments in sustainable management will quickly make us a leader.

Introduction of substrate culture, with avant-garde techniques unique in Switzerland, discovered during our travels.

Julien Stoll, Roland's eldest son, began helping out in the summer. He told his father he wanted to become a salad maker. Later, he developed a passion for tomatoes and greenhouse growing.
Producers must structure themselves to face mass distribution. We co-founded Alliance Romande SA, then Unifrais SA in 2007.
After studying horticulture at Lullier and working in the Netherlands for a major tomato producer, Julien joined us as a crop manager. He will become production director in 2024.
Christophe Stoll, Roland's youngest son, has been helping us for several summers. From the fields to the packaging line, he's learning the different trades and gradually gaining an overview of the farm.
Creation of MalmEnergie Naturelle SA, which will be the first Vaud company to invest in medium-depth geothermal drilling for heating greenhouses.

Launch of the ArteGusto brand in collaboration with other market gardeners. We sell our first YOOM® tomatoes, with their purple color and unique taste.
Christophe joins us after studying horticulture in Lullier and working in market gardening in German-speaking Switzerland. Versatile, he assumes responsibilities in various sectors of the company.
The generational transition is underway, and the company is evolving. Willy and his sons are creating Stoll Légumes in Mathod, while Roland is continuing operations in Yverdon and Montagny, while consolidating a new management team around his sons Julien and Christophe, with the support of new skills.
Our Coop Primagusto cherry tomatoes came out on top in the Saldo test, thanks to their excellent taste and the absence of residual pesticides.
